Types of Channel Letters

• Standard Channel Letter

  

  Acrylic face, aluminium returns and front-lit LEDs — the best known and most widely fitted type of channel letter. The letters are fixed individually so the façade shows between them, making the sign read as part of the architecture rather than a panel on it.

• Chrome Letter

  

  Face and returns made from stainless steel. No light passes through the face; the appeal is the sheen of the metal itself. Night-time visibility therefore depends on the façade lighting, so spots or a halo should be planned alongside it.

• Chrome Letter with Trim Band

  

  A 1.5–3 cm chrome border is left around the front face with a light-diffusing acrylic centre, so the letter glows inside a metal frame. The chrome border sharpens each letter's edge, so the word reads more clearly from a distance than a plain acrylic face.

• Under-Lit Chrome Letter

  

  Light is thrown from beneath the letter, leaving the chrome face unlit and washing the wall softly. Elegant on reception and corporate entrances. The light never hits the eye directly, so it stays comfortable in receptions and lobbies where people stand close.

• PVC Foam (Dekota) Letter

  

  A non-illuminated letter CNC-cut from PVC foam board. Light and economical, for interiors and short-term applications. It is not built for years outdoors, so it suits exhibitions, shop interiors and short-term applications.

• Halo (Back-Lit) Channel Letter

  

  Light strikes the wall from behind, so the letter reads dark against its own halo — the most prestigious-looking channel letter. The effect depends on the wall: the halo reads crisply on a dark flat surface and weakens on pale or textured ones.

• Dual-Lit Channel Letter

  

  Lit from both front and back: the letter itself reads clearly while a halo forms on the wall behind it. Lighting both front and back removes the need for a second sign, though the power draw rises accordingly.

• Trimless Channel Letter

  

  Built so the return profile is hidden, giving the letter a crisp, single-piece edge. With no visible trim to hide behind, the tolerances are tight — cutting and installation demand more precision than a standard letter.

• Non-Illuminated Decorative Letter

  

  Dimensional lettering without lighting, for reception walls, meeting rooms and other interior surfaces. It needs no electrical supply, so it can go up in a rented office or shop without any alteration work.
